November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNovWriMo). On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30. It's a very popular challenge that's been going on since 1999. It's been so popular that it has sparked many other creative challenges in November. There's:
- National Solo Album Month (NaSoAlMo): Write, play, and record an album of at least 29:09
- National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo): Publish one post on your blog every day
- National Nonfiction Writing Month (NaNonFiWriMo): Complete a work of nonfiction in 30 days
and others. In 2013, I participated in NaPhoPoMo which was to post a photo a day for the month of November.
It was the very first time, I'd participated in a daily challenge and actually did it! I completed all 30 days. I'd started other challenges before and quit or failed. This was my first success. It was huge for me. Those 30 days led to me starting a year of creative habits. They gave me the confidence to go a little bigger and a whole lot longer.
This month join me for NaPhoPoMo. Take a photo each day and post it somewhere. This is an easy challenge. Just snap a photo and post it. The discipline that it takes to complete all thirty days very well might lead you to bigger and better things too. So join me!
